Media Foundation Challenging Media Presents:
A Short Film on Copyright by Eric Faden
Professor Eric Faden of Bucknell University created this humorous, yet informative, review of copyright principles delivered through the words of the very folks we can thank for nearly endless copyright terms.
Copyright refers to a federal law that gives exclusive rights to an original work to the creator of that work for a limitesd amount of time.
Copyright gives the creator the right to copy and distribute their work, be credited for that work, and it also limits the adaptations and outside use of that work that can be done without the creator's permission.
Copyright applies to many forms of works, including books, articles, movies, and even music.
Before you use part of a work, you need to determine what copyright rules apply to it.
